The Sellano's old gates

The medieval  walls of the  Sellano's  castle had arranged by two order walls  that followed  the sloping ground of the hill facing up to the Montesanto's castle.
In the castle walls there were five gates:

 Porta dell' Annunziata ( the Annunciation gate,  Our Lady of the Annunciation) 
It was located close to the ruined church having the same name and nearby to the old "Borgo" of Sellano.The gate is still visible and incorpored inside of a civil house.

Porta Santa Croce (the Holy Cross gate)
This gate was located below the Annunciation gate in theVigi water mill direction.
The place is called "la Croce ".The gate is not visible now.

Porta Sant'Angelo (the Saint Angel gate)
The gate was located close to the ruined church having the same name.The gate is not visible now.


La Portella (the Portella gate) 
This gate could be located  in the place of Sellano called "Rocchetta".

Porta di Santa Maria or Porta Spoletina (the Saint Mary gate or Spoleto gate)
This gate was located nearby the Santa Maria church.Today it is visible only the tower portion close to "Stella Bar".
